LPG Subsidy News: Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in the country in March-April next year. Before this, the Central Government is expected to provide major relief to LPG customers.
According to the news published in Mint, the government is considering increasing the subsidy on gas cylinders. The government is expected to announce increase in subsidy on gas cylinders to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). Increasing the subsidy amount will provide relief to crores of gas consumers.
Focus also on increasing customer base

The government is expected to take this step in view of inflation. The retail inflation rate for the month of September has fallen to 5.02 percent. The government has given the target to RBI to keep the inflation rate in the range of 4 to 6 percent. Earlier, the inflation rate had reached a record level of 15 months in July.
