LPG Rate Cut: The government has given relief to the common man on the first day of the new year. Oil marketing companies have reduced the rate of 19 kg commercial cylinder (LPG Gas Cylinder). From today i.e. from 1 January 2025, LPG cylinder has become cheaper by Rs 14.50. There has been no change in the prices of domestic cooking gas cylinders. The last time the price of domestic cooking gas cylinders was reduced was on 1 March itself. It is worth mentioning that oil marketing companies fix the price of LPG gas on the first day of the month itself.
From January 1, 2025, a 19 kg commercial cylinder will be available for Rs 1804 in Delhi, Rs 1756 in Mumbai, Rs 1966 in Chennai and Rs 1911 in Kolkata. Earlier, its rate in Delhi was Rs 1818.50 per cylinder. Domestic gas cylinder will still be available for Rs 803 in Delhi, Rs 829 in Kolkata, Rs 802.50 in Mumbai and Rs 818.50 in Chennai. The government had last reduced the price of domestic gas cylinder by about Rs 100 in August 2023. Since then, there has been no change in its price.
After 6 months, the price of commercial gas cylinders has been reduced. Before January, commercial gas cylinders were getting expensive for 6 consecutive months i.e. from July to December. During this, the price of commercial gas cylinders in Delhi increased by Rs 172.5. At the same time, the price of commercial gas cylinders in Kolkata and Chennai increased by Rs 171. While the price in Mumbai increased by Rs 173 the most.
The price of domestic LPG cylinder was last reduced by Rs 100 in March 2024. Earlier, the companies had announced a big reduction of Rs 200 on August 30, 2023 and then the price came down to Rs 903. After this, the companies again reduced its price by Rs 100 on March 9, 2024.
