This means that now you will have to pay more for a cylinder. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has announced an increase of Rs 50 in the price of LPG cylinder. Now LPG cylinder will be available for Rs 853. Earlier it was Rs 803.
This increase has come at a time when inflation is already very high. The prices of food items are skyrocketing. In such a situation, the rising cost of LPG cylinder is another blow to the common man.

Earlier, amid the fall in the prices of crude oil in the international market, the government increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per liter. This information was given in an official order. According to this, the excise duty on petrol has been increased by Rs 13 per liter and on diesel by Rs 10 per liter. However, this order does not state what kind of impact the increase in excise duty will have on the retail prices of petrol and diesel.
Meanwhile, industry sources said retail prices of petrol and diesel are unlikely to change despite the increase in excise duty.
Fall in international crude oil prices
There was hope of reduction in retail prices of petrol and diesel due to fall in international crude oil prices in the last few days. But now due to increase in excise duty, the possibility of this happening has reduced.
