LPG Price 1st January 2024: Five years ago, i.e. in 2019, petroleum companies had given a New Year gift to domestic LPG consumers. The price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 120.50.

2024 is also an election year. General elections may be held in April-May. In such a situation, considering the old pattern, there may be a reduction in the rates of domestic LPG cylinders. Currently this cylinder is available in Delhi for Rs 903. According to the website of Indian Oil, the last huge reduction in cylinder rates was on 30 August 2023. It became cheaper by Rs 200 from Rs 1103 to Rs 903.

What were the cylinder rates on January 1 during the tenure of Modi government?

Narendra Modi government came in May 2014. The beginning of the year 2015 was full of relief for domestic LPG consumers. Cylinder prices dropped from Rs 770.50 to Rs 708.50. After this, in the second year on January 1, 2016, the cylinder once again became costlier by Rs 49.50 as compared to December 2015.

Cylinder was available for Rs 585 on January 1, 2017

On January 1, 2017, the rate of cylinder increased by only one rupee and it was being sold in Delhi at the rate of Rs 585. According to IOC data, by December 2017 the cylinder price reached Rs 747. On January 1, 2018, it came down to Rs 741 with a relief of just Rs 6. After this, the beginning of 2019 was full of relief. The cylinder became cheaper by Rs 120.50 and became Rs 689 on January 1, 2019. On January 1, 2020, the cylinder rate increased by Rs 19 and the price reached Rs 714.

Rates will not change on January 1 of 2022 and 2023

There was no change in the rate on January 1, 2021 as compared to the rate of December 2020. The price of domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi remained stable at Rs 694. In the year 2022, the rates did not change on January 1, but due to changes in other months of the year, the cylinder price reached Rs 1053. Similarly, the rates did not change in January 2023 also, but in March the cylinder reached Rs 1103. Overall, in view of the general elections of 2024, there is hope that domestic cylinder prices will reduce.
