LPG Gas Connection: LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) consumers will also now have to do e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Custom). However, only those who have a connection before 2019 have to do e-KYC.
The employees of the agencies will also go door to door and check the stove and pipes. Those who do not have their e-KYC done by 31 December, their gas connections will be cancelled. Petroleum companies have started identifying their real consumers for domestic gas connections.
Agencies are making customers aware
The distribution agencies have been instructed to conduct door-to-door inspections for the safety of consumers. Through this, the agencies are making the customers aware. There are about 4.75 lakh consumers of Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas in the district.
At present, the price of a domestic cylinder is Rs 903, on which the Government of India is providing a subsidy of Rs 48 and the beneficiaries of Ujjwala are getting Rs 300. That is, a normal cylinder is available for Rs 855 and an Ujjwala cylinder for Rs 550. But due to the lack of a survey of consumers for a long time, there is a problem in subsidy as well.
Regarding these problems, as per the instructions of the government recently, petroleum companies are now running a campaign to get e-KYC of customers done. Time till December has been given for this.
LPG consumers can update their e-KYC by visiting the nearest distributor agency office. For this, instructions have been given to all gas agencies. So that e-KYC of all the customers associated with the gas agency is completed before December - AP Singh, District Supply Officer
Consumers should also get their cylinders and stoves checked
In view of the safety of domestic gas connection holders and cylinders, it is mandatory to get the stove and cylinder checked. For this, workers from gas agencies will visit the consumers’ homes and check, pipes etc. will be replaced if needed. This work is being done along with e-KYC. Raj Narayan, the proprietor of Raj Gas Service located in Parataval, said that more and more customers are being made aware every day.
