The governments of three states of the country, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, have released new rates of liquor. Liquor contractors have also been informed. The new rates will be effective from today. Instructions have also been given to take strict action against those who violate the order.

Why did liquor prices increase?

According to media reports, the new excise policy 2023-24 was approved on January 29. Modi cabinet has approved it. According to the new excise policy, liquor license fees in the country have increased by 10 percent. Excise rates have also been increased.

Due to this, liquor and beer have become expensive in the country from today. Under the new product policy, the central government has set a target of earning about Rs 45 thousand crore in the next financial year. Liquor rates were earlier increased in June 2022. Now after one and a half years, the prices of liquor have been increased once again, which has come into effect from today, April 1.

Liquor prices in Uttar Pradesh?

Country liquor has become costlier by Rs 5 in Uttar Pradesh. Now it will be available for Rs 70 instead of Rs 65. Another type of puja, which used to cost Rs 75, has become costlier by Rs 15. This paua will be available for Rs 90 from today. A bottle of English liquor has become costlier by Rs 15 to Rs 25. Adhiya and the entire bottle have also become expensive. There has been an increase of Rs 10 on a can of beer. The price of a bottle of beer has increased by Rs 20.

Liquor prices in Chhattisgarh?

Liquor has become expensive in Chhattisgarh also from today. The prices of cans, bottles and cans have increased by Rs 10 to Rs 40 in the state. While implementing the new excise policy, the present government has removed all the cesses imposed by the previous government. All the taxes imposed during the Corona period have been removed. The state government is aiming to collect revenue of Rs 11 thousand crore in the coming financial year.

Liquor prices in Madhya Pradesh?

According to media reports, the price of liquor in Madhya Pradesh has increased by Rs 150 to Rs 200. As soon as the new excise policy was implemented, the prices of beer and liquor have increased by 15 percent. Mohan Yadav government has got a revenue target of about Rs 15 thousand crore for the new financial year. A target of Rs 916 crore has been achieved for Bhopal alone.
