The Excise Department of the Chhattisgarh Government has announced the new rates of liquor for the financial year 2025-26. Let us tell you that the government has decided to reduce the prices of liquor by about four percent.

In fact, new rates have been announced for the financial year 2025-26. These rates will be applicable to all liquor shops from April 1. According to the new list, the prices of liquor have been reduced by up to 4 percent. According to the new rates, now a 750 ml bottle of whiskey will be available for Rs 480.

Along with this, the prices of puya have also been reduced by Rs 10 to 20. However, along with this, a decision has also been taken to ban McDowell No. 1 puya in the state. Let us tell you that the government took this decision in the cabinet meeting on March 3.

The state government has made liquor cheaper by reducing infrastructure cess and additional excise duty. The government may face a potential revenue loss of Rs 1,000 crore. However, this loss is expected to be compensated with the approval of 67 new liquor shops.

Let us tell you that an important cabinet meeting of the CM was held on March 3. The government had taken a decision regarding the prices of liquor in the meeting. The government had decided in the meeting that the 9.5 percent additional charge on foreign liquor would be abolished. After which the prices of liquor in the state came down. Under this, the excise department has released a new price list of liquor on March 27.

Under the new liquor policy of the Chhattisgarh government, 67 new liquor shops will be opened this year. So far, 674 liquor shops are being run in the state, including premium shops, where expensive and important liquor is sold. The government has also invited proposals for 67 new liquor shops from all districts.

It is being told that the prices of liquor were high in Chhattisgarh. Due to which liquor was illegally smuggled to other states. Due to illegal smuggling of liquor, there was a loss of revenue. In such a situation, the government had decided to reduce the prices of liquor.
