The Andhra Pradesh government has taken this decision under the new liquor policy. Many companies have prepared for this. Soon the liquor lovers of the state will get its benefits.
The new liquor policy has come into force in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu Naidu’s government has said that under its new liquor policy, a 180 ml bottle will be sold for just Rs 99. Apart from this, many other decisions have been taken. Under the new liquor policy, those who won shops in the lottery have started selling. However, a big problem has arisen for the new liquor shops. Even if some people get shops, the owners are demanding huge advance amount and rent. This is the reason why only a few shops were available on the first day.
Apart from this, there are rules for setting up liquor shops away from schools and temples. According to the provisions of the new liquor policy, permanent permit is given for two years only after checking the arrangements of the shops. These liquor shops should be more than 100 meters away from government and private schools and colleges. Apart from this, liquor shops should be within a hundred meters of temples, mosques and churches marked by the state government. Due to this rule, it has become a bit difficult for some people to find shops.
There is no objection to liquor shops even if national and state highways pass through city and municipal corporation jurisdiction. However, if national and state highways pass through villages with a population of less than 20,000, there is a rule to place the shops at a distance of 220 meters. Also, the government has implemented the rule that in villages with a population of more than 20,000, liquor shops will be set up at a distance of 500 meters from national and state highways.
