If you are a pension account holder, then you will have to submit your life certificate or life certificate every year. The deadline for submission of Annual Life Certificate this year is November 30, 2022. If you get government pension then you have to submit your life certificate by this date. But if you have been a private sector employee and are getting pension, then this update is for you. If it has not been one year since you submitted your life certificate, then you need not submit your certificate by 30th November, 2022.
Pensioners of private sector get pension under Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995 of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). EPFO has said in a tweet that “Pensioners of EPS’95 are informed that their life certificate will be valid for 12 months.”
Attention EPS’95 Pensioners,
Jeevan Pramaan Patra is valid for 12 months #EPFO #SocialSecurity #AmritMahotsav @AmritMahotsav pic.twitter.com/0pC0EBvKA4— EPFO (@socialepfo) October 7, 2022
Pensioners of EPF’95 need not submit their life certificate in November, 2022 in these two conditions if-
1. Your pension started one year ago,
2. You submitted your last Life Certificate on or after December, 2021.
Deposit anytime, will be valid for 1 year
Apart from this, pensioners of EPF’95 get one more facility. You can submit your life certificate whenever you want. The only rule is that whenever you submit your life certificate, this certificate will be valid for the next one year. Just you have to keep in mind that you submit your new life certificate at the end of its validity.
But if you are a pensioner of EPF’95 and you had submitted your life certificate in November, 2021, then you will have to submit your new certificate in this November, 2022, as it will complete one year. In the event of not doing so, the pension will stop coming from the next month i.e. December 2022.
