The Congress government in Karnataka has given a big shock to the people of the state. The state government has increased the Karnataka sales tax on petrol and diesel.
In such a situation, the prices of petrol and diesel are expected to increase by Rs 3. According to the report of Moneycontrol, the state government has announced an increase in sales tax on petrol and diesel on June 15. According to the notification of the state government, ‘Karnataka Sales Tax’ (KST) on petrol has been increased from 25.92 percent to 29.84 percent and on diesel from 14.3 percent to 18.4 percent.
The notification issued by the Finance Department said that these increased rates will come into effect with immediate effect. In Bengaluru, petrol is now being sold at Rs 99.84 per liter, while diesel is being sold at Rs 85.93 per liter.

Will help in raising 2500-2800 rupees annually
Fuel prices have increased in Karnataka after the Lok Sabha elections. Actually, the state government has to spend Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 60,000 crore annually for the implementation of 5 guarantees. A senior official of the Finance Department said that the increase in fuel prices will help in raising about Rs 2,500-2,800 crore in this financial year.
