Also check whether your PAN card is linked to the Aadhaar number or not. The Income Tax Department says that many refund claims are stuck due to non-linking of PAN-Aadhaar. In such a situation, the department has put these refund claims into the process of verification.

An Income Tax Department official said that taxpayers can check the status by going to the service column on the e-filing portal and clicking on Now Your Refund. If the refund is stuck due to any technical reason, it will be clearly mentioned. There are many reasons like not linking PAN with Aadhaar and not updating the bank account, which are causing delay in getting the refund. If Aadhaar is not linked to PAN, then the online process will have to be completed first. Lots of complaints about refunds

This time a lot of people are complaining about the refund. In some cases the refund is being received soon but there are a large number of cases in which the refund has not been received even after one to two months of filing the income tax return. People are also complaining about this on social media. Experts say that not linking the PAN card with Aadhaar on time is also a big reason behind this. Therefore, now when the refund is not being received on time, people are going online and linking Aadhaar with PAN by paying the fine.
