The Railway Board on Friday announced that passengers travelling in Vande Bharat trains can purchase meals during the journey even if they have not opted for meals while booking their tickets.

In a letter to the Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC, the Railway Board mentioned that many passengers had complained that the IRCTC staff did not provide them food if they did not choose the food option during ticket booking. The passengers said that they were ready to pay immediately, yet food was not provided to them.
Keeping these complaints in mind, the Railway Board has decided that such passengers will also be able to buy safe and quality food.
