How to apply for Instant e-PAN: PAN card is one of the most important documents. It is issued by the Income Tax Department. It is a 10 digit unique alphanumeric number.

You can apply for instant e-PAN card using Aadhaar-based e-KYC. Its most important thing is that this service is absolutely free. Yes, you do not have to pay any charge for this. This facility can be availed by all applicants with Permanent Account Number, who have a valid Aadhaar number and who have a mobile number registered with the UIDAI database.

How to Apply for Instant E-PAN? 

  • First, go to the home page of the e-filing portal and click on Instant e-PAN.
  • On the e-PAN page, click on New e-PAN.
  • Now after entering your 12 digit Aadhaar number on the New e-PAN page, select the Confirm checkbox and click on Continue.
  • On the OTP validation page, click on ‘I have read the terms and agree to proceed’.
  • Now enter the 6 digit OTP received on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Select the checkbox to verify Aadhaar details with UIDAI and click on Continue.

Note : Keep in mind that OTP will be valid only for 15 minutes. You will get only 3 chances to enter the correct OTP.

  • On the validation Aadhaar detail page, select the ‘I accept the checkbox’ and click on continue.
  • On successful submission, a success message will be displayed. Along with this, you will also get a confirmation message on the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Note down the Acknowledgment ID for future reference.

How to download e-PAN? 

  • Log in to the e-Filing portal with your User ID and Password.
  • Click on Services > View / Download e-PAN on your Dashboard.
  • Now enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and click on continue.
  • On the OTP validation page, enter the 6 digit OTP received on the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar and click on continue.
  • Now you will be able to see the status of your e-PAN. If a new e-PAN is generated and allotted, then download the e-PAN to download the copy.
