The country ‘s leading IT company Infosys has fired more than 300 new employees. They were hired as freshers. According to sources, these employees took initial training at the company’s Mysore campus. But even after three attempts, they could not pass the internal test. However, IT employee union NITES said that the number of new employees affected by this move is very high. The union has threatened to file an official complaint to the Ministry of Labor and Employment demanding immediate intervention and strict action against the company.

In response to an emailed query, the Bengaluru-headquartered IT services company said, “At Infosys, we have a very stringent hiring process where all new employees are expected to clear an internal test followed by extensive basic training at our Mysore campus.” All new employees are given three chances to clear the assessment, failing which they will not be retained by the organisation. The company said this clause is “also mentioned in their contract.”
The appointment was made after waiting for 2 years
Infosys said, “This process has been in existence for over two decades and ensures the availability of high-quality talent for our clients.” Sources privy to the development said the number of affected new hires was a little over 300. Meanwhile, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) claimed that the number was much higher and the affected new hires had joined the company only a few months ago in October, 2024. “These employees had already endured a long wait of two years after receiving their ‘offer letters’, and their joining was possible only after sustained efforts by NITES and the affected candidates,” it said.
This is how he got the resignation
NITES alleged that the employees were called to a meeting room at the Mysuru campus and asked to sign a ‘mutual separation’ letter. However, this claim could not be independently confirmed. NITES said, “Given the gravity of the situation, NITES is filing an official complaint with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, seeking immediate intervention and strict action against Infosys.”
