According to the Railway Ministry, the semi-bullet train i.e. Vande Bharat Express is capable of running at a speed of 160 km. Keeping this in mind, the work of increasing the track capacity has started in Jhansi division of North Central Railway.

Thick web switch is necessary on the track to increase speed

To increase the speed of trains, it is necessary to install thick web switches on the tracks. Along with increasing the speed of trains in Jhansi division, emphasis is also being laid on increasing safety. For this, the work of installing Track Thick Web Switch Point Machine (TWS) is being done rapidly. After their installation, the speed of trains will increase as well as safety will increase.

Conventional switches will be replaced

There are turnouts on the tracks to change the direction of trains. At present, conventional switches are being used in them. Now the work of installing thick web switches is going on at a fast pace. This will increase the speed of trains and they will also be more safe.

Semi bullet train will run in these cities

According to the Railway Ministry, there are preparations to run semi-bullet trains at two places. Both are in Jhansi division. Work is going on to install thick web switches on Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi and Kanpur section and Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi and Dholpur section. In this way, after Delhi to Agra, these two sections will be where the fastest trains will be able to run.

According to the railways, the main purpose of installing thick web switches is to increase the speed of trains to 160 kmph. Apart from this, the speed of trains in loop lines will also increase from 30 kmph to 50 kmph. Along with this, the use of this new technology also reduces vibrations during running of trains, and there will be less jolts.
