Indian Railways to set up 61 PM Jan Aushadhi Kendras at railway stations

New Delhi. If a passenger falls ill during a train journey, he will be able to get medicines easily at the station. Indian Railways has decided to open PM Jan Aushadhi at 61 more railway stations in the country.

Earlier, Jan Aushadhi centers have been opened at 50 railway stations, which are proving beneficial for the passengers. Keeping this in mind, more Jan Aushadhi centers are being opened.

Indian Railways has decided to open stalls of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra in circulating area and concourse of the station and at 61 more places. These include stations across the country including Ara, Hajipur, Samastipur, Chhapra and Bhagalpur in Bihar, where the centers will be opened.

Tenders have been invited from the people willing to open stalls of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra at these stations and the selected tenderer will complete the construction of the outlet by the first week of August and hand it over to them. This important decision will not only create employment opportunities but will also make medicines available to the people at affordable prices.

It is worth noting that the objective of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras is to provide medicines at affordable prices to all people, especially the poor and the underprivileged, through these centers, so that the expenditure on health care can be reduced. Various products under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra include 1963 medicines and 293 surgical equipment.
