What does GNL mean?
Two types of waiting tickets are issued by the Railways, in which general waiting tickets and tatkal waiting tickets come. Many times you book a ticket a few days before the journey, then it becomes waiting and you see GNWL written, which means General Waiting List. If there is a number written in front of your GNWL, it means that many people have tickets waiting ahead of you.
What does TQWL mean?
For example, if GNWL28 is written, it means that before you 27 more people have tickets in waiting, when their seats are confirmed, then after that you will also get tickets in the train. At the same time, TQWL is written on the Tatkal waiting ticket.
Which passengers get the confirmed ticket first?
Let us tell you that the passengers with general waiting get the first seat in the waiting list. Only after this, those waiting immediately get the seat. Please tell that the chances of getting a seat for those waiting immediately are slightly less. If your immediate waiting list is not confirmed till chart preparation, then your ticket gets canceled automatically.
