Indian Railways introduces Automated Passenger Information System (APIS) at railway stations

East Central Railway GM Chhatrasal Singh on Thursday launched the Automated Passenger Information System (APIS) in the headquarters hall at Hajipur, Bihar. With this system, complete information related to the operation of trains at stations will be made available in an integrated manner.

After its commissioning, all the updated information related to the operation of trains will be automatically displayed on the screen from four hours in advance. This will be very beneficial for railway passengers.

In the initial phase, about 500 big and small stations of East Central Railway including Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Barauni, Bapudham Motihari, Bettiah, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Jaynagar will be equipped with Automated Passenger Information System. It is said that under this, screens will be installed at stations with internet connectivity through SIM card, which will receive complete data related to rail operations from CRIS’s server.

Passengers will be able to see all the information like arrival and departure time of trains, running status and arrival of trains on the platform on the screen installed on the platform. If any change is made, information about it will also be given. Through this, the order of the train coaches after the engine can also be seen. This will help passengers to know the correct order of their respective coaches, so that passengers will not face any inconvenience in boarding the train.

Another clone will run for Anand Vihar from Saturday

Another clone express will run from Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar Terminal. Its operation will start from August 24 and will run daily till September 6. It will reach Anand Vihar in 22 and a half hours via Bapudham Motihari, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Gorakhpur. Regarding this, the CPTM of PUMRE has issued an order.

It will have 17 coaches including eight general and seven sleeper coaches. 05283 Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Clone will leave Muzaffarpur at 6.30 am and reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 5 am the next day. It will stop at Motipur, Meshahi, Chakia, Pipra, Bapudham Motihari, Sugauli, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Harinagar, Bagaha, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Barabanki, Lucknow, Moradabad stations. Whereas, 05284 Anand Vihar-Muzaffarpur will operate from 25 August to 7 September.

It will leave Anand Vihar Terminal at 7 am. It will reach Muzaffarpur at 4.50 am the next day. It is known that this is the second clone train leaving from Muzaffarpur for Anand Vihar. The first train is 05219 Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar Clone Express, which leaves Muzaffarpur for Anand Vihar at 1.30 pm every day. It goes to Anand Vihar via Hajipur, Sonpur, Pataliputra, Danapur, Ara, Buxar.
