Indian Railway Passengers Alert! Railways has canceled hundreds of trains due to cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, full fare will be refunded

The Western Zone of the Indian Railways has decided to cancel hundreds of trains in the cyclone-affected areas in view of ‘Biparjoy’ in Gujarat. Along with this, it has been decided to short-terminate and short originate some trains. Apart from this, security and precautions are also being taken by Western Railway for the train passengers of these areas coming under its jurisdiction.

According to the current rule, full refund will be given to the passengers whose trains have been cancelled. But due to the cancellation of trains, the difficulties of the passengers have increased further. Because now they are not getting confirmed seats in other trains so soon.

According to Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, now 2 trains will be cancelled, 1 train will be short-terminated and 2 trains will be short originated. With this, 100 trains will be cancelled, 40 trains will be short terminated, while 40 trains will be short originated as a precautionary measure regarding the safety of passengers and train operations in view of Cyclone Biparjoy.

Canceled trains

  1. Train number 19207 PORBANDARVERAVAL EXPRESS departure on 16th June, 2023
  2. Train number 19208 VERAVALPOR BUNDAR EXPRESS running on 16th June, 2023

Shot terminating train

Train No. 12474 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Gandhidham Sarvodaya Express commencing journey on June 15, 2023 will be short terminated at Ahmedabad.

SHOT Originating Trains

  1. Train number 09456 Bhuj-Sabarmati special commencing journey on June 16, 2023, which was earlier notified as cancelled, will now be short originated from Gandhidham.
  2. Train No. 12473 Gandhidham – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Sarvodaya Express commencing journey on 17th June, 2023 will be short originated from Ahmedabad.
