Railway said this
Railway has changed the rule saying that bed sheets and blankets should not be given for washing for more than 6 months. For this, Railway Board has issued instructions for IRCTC and Railway Zonal. Along with this, under the new policy, instead of the tender division, the tender for washing the sheets will be from the Railway Board itself. Due to which its monitoring will become even easier and it will be monitored at the division level.
Tender goes for 3 to 5 years
At present, the contract for cleaning of trains, pantry car services, washing of bed sheets and blankets goes for 3 to 5 years. After this time is over, it is extended again and tender is given. But, according to the new rule, this will not happen now. Railway Board has sent letter to all the zones on behalf of IRCTC.
According to the letter, now the tender will be given only for 6 months. At the same time, centralization of tender for cleaning and linen washing is also being considered. Let us tell you, thinking is going on in the Railway Board regarding the tender.
