Balasore Accident: More than 275 people have died in the train accident in Balasore, Odisha. It has been more than 50 hours since this accident happened on Friday evening.
After this horrific accident, Railways has canceled 123 trains, diverted 56 trains and short-terminated 10. Apart from this, 14 trains have been rescheduled by the Railways. The train schedule includes such trains, which are scheduled to start from June 3 and run till June 7.
Some important trains canceled
The canceled trains include Sealdah-Puri Duronto, Howrah-Chennai Mail, Kanyakumari-Howrah Express, Shalimar Express, Tirupati Weekly Superfast Express, SMVT-Bengaluru Superfast Express, Santragachi AC Superfast, Purulia-Vilupuram.
The routes of these trains were diverted.
Similarly, the routes of trains which have been diverted include Tambaram-New Tinsukhia Express, New Delhi-Puri Express, Purushottam Express and Digha to Visakhapatnam Superfast Express. The short-terminated trains include Falaknuma Express, Baghajatin Express, Balasore-Bhubaneswar Express and Jaleswar-Puri MEMU.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that normal train services are likely to be restored by Wednesday. Let us tell you that there was an accident between Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train at around 7 pm on Friday evening near Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore, 170 km from Bhubaneswar. More than 275 people have died in this accident and about 900 people are injured.
