If the train is canceled then the passengers are entitled to get the refund of the ticket money . Passengers who have booked e-tickets through IRCTC website need not do anything for refund of tickets. In case of train cancellation, the refund will be credited to the customer’s bank account/credit card/e-wallet from which the payment has been made. Tickets purchased from the reservation counter can be canceled up to 72 hours after the scheduled departure of the train at the computerized reservation counter. If the passenger cancels the ticket on his own, IRCTC deducts some cancellation charges from the refund. The cancellation charges are different for each reservation category.
