CERT-In has told in its bulletin that Google Chrome users using which devices need to be careful and due to which flaws they are in danger. It has been told that ‘many flaws in Google Chrome have come up due to wrong implementation of extension API and use of free in Skia, V8.’ Attackers and scammers can take advantage of these existing flaws.

Attacker can cause damage from a distance

The existing flaws in the Chrome browser have been detected in the most important components of the browser and this is why users can be harmed due to them. The agency has said that due to the existing flaws, a remote attacker can target users from a distance and he will not even need physical access to the device to do so.

To put it simply, without touching your device, it can be hacked through a specially designed webpage. After this, things like stealing your personal data, stealing your identity and emptying your account by doing other scams can be done.

Users will have to wait for the fix

Although the browser automatically updates to the latest version, but if you have not updated Chrome yet, then you should do so immediately. If your browser has not received the update, then you will have to wait for the fix. Chrome versions older than 133.0.6943.53 on Linux and Chrome versions older than 133.0.6943.53/54 on Windows or Mac fall into the risk category.
