ITR Filing: The last date for filing Income Tax Return by the Finance Ministry has been extended once again. But the companies will get the benefit of the date change made by the Finance Ministry. The ministry has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns (ITR) by companies for the assessment year 2022-23 to November 7. For companies that are required to get accounts audited, the last date to file ITR was earlier 31 October.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a notification that the deadline for filing audit reports was extended last month, so the deadline for filing ITR has also been extended. The CBDT said, “The date for furnishing the statement of income under sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Act for the assessment year 2022-23 has been extended, which was earlier October 31.” This has now been extended to November 7, 2022.
30 November last date for such companies
Domestic companies are required to file income tax return for the financial year 2021-2022 by 31 October 2022. The due date for filing ITR will be November 30, 2022 for companies whose transfer pricing is under process.
Relief for the festive season
Om Rajpurohit, Director (Company and International Tax), AMRG & Associates said that the extension in the deadline will provide much needed relief during the festive season. Last month, the CBDT extended the deadline for filing audit reports by seven days to October 7.
