PAN Card: The Income Tax Department has issued a last warning for those PAN (Permanent Account Number) card holders, who have not yet linked it with Aadhaar card.
According to the latest advisory, if you do not link your PAN card with Aadhaar by March 31, 2023, it will become useless. Those people will not be able to use their PAN card after this date.
According to the IT Act, if the PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar by March 31, 2023, it will become useless. From April 1, 2023, it will not work. Although some people have got exemption from this. People of Assam, Jammu-Kashmir, Meghalaya have got exemption from this. Apart from this, those whose age is more than 80 years are also exempted. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has set the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar from March 31, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
How to link Aadhaar and PAN card
Go to the Income Tax e-filing website.
– On the left side of the site page, you will find the option of quick links.
Click on ‘Link Aadhaar’ option.
Enter your PAN, Aadhaar number and name.
After giving this information, an OTP will be sent to you.
After entering the OTP, your Aadhaar and PAN will be linked.
How to check whether your PAN-Aadhaar is linked or not
Go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in .
Go to the ‘Quick links’ head at the top and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’.
After this a new window will open on the screen.
There will be a hyperlink at the top of this page which will say You have already requested to link Aadhaar, so click here to know the status.
After clicking on the hyperlink, you will have to enter the details of your PAN and Aadhaar.
Now click on ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’. In its result, you will know whether PAN is linked to your Aadhaar or not.
