There is no plan to extend the last date for filing income tax returns this time. Recently, Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj himself gave this information. Any taxpayer can be an individual, artificial juridical person, firm, trust, company or a society. One does not have to attach any kind of document while filing income tax.

To complete the process, the ITR filed by the taxpayer is e-verified through an OTP generated using Aadhaar mobile number or Internet Banking. According to the law of income tax, taxpayers are divided into certain classes, under which all the tax payers have to pay tax within a stipulated time.

Who does not have to pay tax?

1. If a person is less than 60 years of age and his annual income is Rs 2.5 lakh, then he will not have to pay any tax.

2. If a person’s age is more than 60 years and less than 80 years. Also, if his annual income is Rs 3 lakh, the person does not have to pay tax.

3. If a person is more than 80 years of age and his annual income is Rs 5 lakh, then he is also not charged tax.
