Monsoon rains continue in different parts of the country, due to which people are facing problems for many things including traffic. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in 7 states today.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall is likely in different areas of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during the next 5 days. During this week, sporadic to light/moderate rainfall may occur in various areas of North-West India.
North-West India
According to the Meteorological Department, scattered to light/moderate rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan on September 18. An alert for very heavy rain has been issued in different areas of south-eastern Uttar Pradesh today. The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in various areas of Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh on September 18 and a heavy rain warning has been issued for Haryana and eastern Rajasthan today.
Central India
According to the IMD, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh may receive sporadic to moderate rainfall during this week. Heavy rainfall is expected in different parts of northern Madhya Pradesh today. The department has predicted heavy rainfall in different areas of northwestern Madhya Pradesh and northern Chhattisgarh on September 18.

Eastern and Northeast India
According to the IMD, Andaman and Nicobar Islands may receive light to moderate rainfall. Scattered to light/moderate rain is expected over East and Northeast India during this week. According to the Meteorological Department, sporadic to heavy rainfall may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during September 17 to 20. Heavy rain may occur in Bihar and Jharkhand today. According to the IMD, heavy rain may occur over Assam, Meghalaya on September 19 and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on September 18 to 19.
West and South Peninsular India
According to the Meteorological Department, Konkan and Goa are likely to receive widespread light/moderate rainfall. According to the IMD, scattered to scattered light/moderate rainfall is likely over the rest of the region during this week.
