The department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in the state from June 24 to 30. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, said that from Saturday, rains will cover the entire Uttarakhand and there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains at some places. He said that the monsoon has just reached Bihar and Jharkhand. There are favorable conditions for full onset of monsoon over UP, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next three days.

Chances of rain in Doon even today

In Dehradun, the sky will be cloudy on Friday and there is a forecast of one or two rounds of rain during the day. On Thursday also, up to 52 mm of rain was recorded in Karanpur, Suddhowala and Sahasradhara of Doon. While Mohkampur received 41 mm of rain and Asharodi received 13 mm of rain in the whole day. According to the Meteorological Department, with the increase of rain, the temperature of Doon will decrease. On Thursday, the day temperature in Doon was three degrees below normal at 33.8.

Due to rain on Banjarawala, Mothrowala, Doon University road, the situation became very bad. The situation was such that the rain water coming from Haridwar bypass was flowing on Mothrowala Road via Bengali Kothi. The road looked like a canal. In such a situation, let alone walking on the road, even two-wheeler drivers were not able to cross the road.

Due to the rain on Thursday, people continued to struggle with the jam till afternoon. The problem of jam was created due to the turning of the roads into ponds of water. At the same time, due to the rain, more people came out in four wheelers. Because of this the traffic pressure increased. At many places the traffic was moved by closing the traffic lights.
