Weather Update 15 May: It is scorching heat in the states of North India including UP-Delhi. The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning in North West India. However, heavy rains are also continuing in many states.
Due to Cyclone Mocha, there is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in the Bay of Bengal and North Eastern states. From today it will rain for the next four days.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to Cyclone Mocha, there is an alert of light to moderate rain in Andaman and Nicobar today. Apart from this, heavy to very heavy rain would occur over Tripura and Mizoram today. Heavy rain will occur over Nagaland, Manipur and South Assam. At the same time, strong winds with a speed of 70 kmph are expected in Tripura, Mizoram, South Manipur. Apart from this, winds will blow at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in the areas of Bay of Bengal.
For Northeast India, the Meteorological Department has told that it is going to rain heavily from May 14 to May 17. In this, there will be heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh from 14 to 15 May, Assam and Meghalaya from 14 to 17 May, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from 13 to 17 May. Whereas, there will be heavy rains in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from May 14 to 16.
Talking about the previous day, 44 to 46 degree Celsius was recorded in western Rajasthan. Apart from this, temperatures between 40-42 degrees have been recorded in Punjab Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Marathwada, East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Telangana, West Uttar Pradesh. Whereas, heatwave conditions prevailed in western Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch.
The Meteorological Department has told that a new wave of heatwave is going to come in East India, Gangetic West Bengal between May 15 and 16, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha between May 15-17. Apart from this, the maximum temperature is likely to increase by two degrees for the next five days in the states of North West India.
