However, the rains are giving relief to the people after suffering the heat for a long time. The Meteorological Department has told that heavy rains are going to occur in the states of South India, Konkan and Goa on July 6, Gujarat on July 7 and 8. At the same time, rain warning has also been issued in UP-Bihar.

Talking about South India, it will rain very heavily for the next two days. Apart from this, it is going to rain heavily in Kerala and Coastal Karnataka till July 5. Talking about the states of western India, heavy rains are going to occur in Konkan, Ghat areas of central Maharashtra, Goa on July 5 and 6. Apart from this, heavy rains are going to occur in Uttar Pradesh on July 5. Apart from this, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh will receive light rain on July 9.

Talking about the states of Central India, there are chances of heavy rains in these areas for the next three days. There may be heavy rains in Vidarbha area on July 5 and 6, in Chhattisgarh on July 6. Apart from this, heavy rains are going to occur over all Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar for the next five days. Apart from this, rains will occur in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur for the next three days.

Torrential rains continue in Kerala, life stalled in many areas

Torrential rains lashed Kerala since Tuesday night, killing one person and bringing life to a standstill in many areas due to water-logging on roads, rising water levels in rivers and dams, uprooting of trees and damage to houses. It is raining heavily on Wednesday as well and orange alert has been issued in 12 out of 14 districts of the state.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for all districts of Kerala except Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram. According to the IMD forecast issued at 10 am, the intensity of rain is likely to reduce in the next few days. Heavy rain since Tuesday night has caused widespread damage in the state. An auto rickshaw overturned and fell into a drain in Pathanamthitta district, killing one person.
