IMD Rain ALERT! Rain warning issued for some states, Schools closed in 11 cities

Cold wave and rain forecast:The cold wave is gradually increasing in the plains of the country. Dense fog was seen in Delhi this morning. According to IMD, the minimum temperature of Delhi has dropped to 4 degrees Celsius. This has increased the cold wave.

In this season, dense fog is affecting the visibility, due to which traffic and public life can be affected. At the same time, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for some states. After the IMD issued a forecast of heavy rains, schools in many districts of Tamil Nadu have been declared a holiday today.

According to news agency ANI, schools have been closed in Chennai, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Ramanathapuram, Tiruvarur, Ranipet and Tiruvallur. Holiday has been declared in schools due to heavy rain warning.

There was dense fog in the capital Delhi this morning and the minimum temperature dropped to 4 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of cold and fog may continue in Delhi for the next few days. Due to fog, visibility has decreased, which has also affected traffic. People were seen wrapped in warm clothes.

At the same time, cold wave conditions are prevailing in many parts of North India as the cold increases. A drop in the minimum temperature has been recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The cold conditions may worsen further due to the cold wave in these states. Apart from this, cold conditions persist from late evening to early morning in Bihar and Jharkhand as well.

Maharashtra and Karnataka will also be affected by light rain and cold. Rain is expected especially in the Western Ghats. Citizens of these states are being advised to be prepared according to the weather.
