Today Weather Update 14 November: The entire country is now in the grip of cold. Dense fog has started falling in North India. Delhi-NCR also witnessed the first fog of the season yesterday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released the latest weather update till November 19, according to which heavy rain is likely to occur in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry in the next 5 days.
Heavy rain alert may occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 18, Kerala on November 19 and south interior Karnataka on November 18. Dense fog has been warned in many states including Punjab, Himachal, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim. Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, the cold has increased due to snowfall in Gurez Valley, Gulmarg and Sonmarg in the last 2 days. According to the Cyclonic Circulation and Western Disturbance Active
Meteorological Department report, a low pressure area has formed over the Southwest and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal near North Tamil Nadu. An upper air cyclonic circulation is located over the southwest Bay of Bengal, off northern Tamil Nadu. An upper-air cyclonic circulation is located in the lower atmosphere over the southeast Arabian Sea off the Kerala coast.
Along with this, a fresh Western Disturbance is moving in, which will cause light to moderate rain with thundershowers and lightning at isolated places over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Puducherry today and tomorrow. Clouds will also prevail in Karaikal, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Mahe. This weather will continue till November 19. Many states including Punjab and Himachal Pradesh will witness dense fog today and tomorrow. There is no chance of rain till November 20 in these states.
What will the weather be like in Delhi-NCR?
In the capital of the country, Delhi, the situation is bad due to air pollution. Today the AQI of the capital is 434. AQI ranges between 400 and 500 in more than 10 regions. Delhi’s air is not breathable. The first fog of the season blanketed the capital yesterday. There was zero visibility in most areas of Delhi on Wednesday. The minimum temperature dropped by 0.9 degrees to settle at 17 degrees, 3 degrees above normal.
