The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the weather is likely to change in the northern states from Monday. Also, many areas of Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive light to heavy rains in the coming 2-3 days. The IMD also confirmed that the fresh round of rain may lead to a drop in temperature.
Weather conditions in the country
According to the Meteorological Department, rain will continue in the hilly areas and snowfall is likely on the high peaks. Many districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive light rain and thundershowers, while Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan may receive rain till February 3-4.
Rain alert in Himachal Pradesh-Uttarakhand
The IMD has also issued a warning of major changes in the weather in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The IMD said that the western disturbance will be active in Himachal on Monday, which will cause snowfall and rain in many districts. Also, visibility will be affected in hilly areas due to dense fog.
Fog alert in these states
Dense fog has been looming over many areas of Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh since Sunday night. Fog also prevailed in Haryana on Sunday night. This period of fog is expected to continue in Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana for the next 2-3 days. Fog may also prevail in Bihar, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya till today, 3 February.
How is the weather like in Mumbai?
According to the weather department report, Mumbaikars can expect foggy and partly cloudy weather on February 3. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast that the weather will be pleasant, with a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius.
