For the last two days, the weather has been harsh in many states of the country. Especially in central and eastern India, stormy winds are blowing along with heavy rain. Due to the change in weather, the minimum temperature has suddenly dropped. The Meteorological Department estimates that such a situation will remain for the next 48 hours.
In the last 24 hours, there was heavy rain in interior Odisha, Assam, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. According to IMD, there was up to 9 cm of rain. This phase of rain can last for the next 48 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for many areas including Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal.
Cyclonic circulation remains
A western disturbance is present in Ladakh and surrounding areas. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation remains over Madhya Pradesh. According to Skymet Weather, the western disturbance is a trough active at medium tropospheric levels, whose position is about 74 ° East longitude and 32 ° North latitude north of 5.8 km above sea level. A trough is extending from Chhattisgarh to North Interior Karnataka via Maharashtra. A new western disturbance may reach close to the western Himalayan region from the night of 24 March. Due to these seasonal activities, there is a possibility of heavy rain and strong winds in many states within the next 48 hours.
Strong winds will blow along with heavy rains in many states
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather will remain similar in many areas for the next 48 hours. There will be incidents of lightning in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Sikkim. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha from the afternoon of March 21, 2025 to the night of March 22. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds will also blow in many areas during this period. Winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in many areas. IMD has issued an orange alert.
UP weather
Many districts of UP may receive rain on Saturday as well. According to IMD, rain may occur with thunder and lightning in many parts. During this time, wind may also blow at a speed of 30 to 50 kilometers.
Bihar Weather
The weather is harsh in Bihar too. The IMD has predicted thunderstorms and lightning in many areas till March 22. The weather department has predicted hailstorms in many areas.
Possibility of thunderstorm and rain in West Bengal
Due to moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal and favorable wind direction, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain in some parts of West Bengal till Saturday. The Meteorological Department said that strong winds, lightning, hailstorm and light to moderate rain are expected at one or two places in Jhargram, East and West Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia, East Burdwan, Hooghly and Howrah districts on Friday.
Rajasthan Weather
There may be rain in some areas of Rajasthan till Saturday. Jaipur Meteorological Center has said that tomorrow i.e. on Saturday, there will be clouds in many areas. Meanwhile, strong winds may also blow at some places.
Rain alert in Jharkhand
The mood of the weather has changed in Jharkhand in the last two days. Due to rain and strong winds in various parts of Jharkhand, the minimum temperature has dropped. Rainfall occurred in some parts of Ranchi, Gumla, Latehar, Lohardaga, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Ramgarh, East Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts. The Meteorological Department has predicted that it may rain in many parts of the state on Saturday as well.
Possible weather activity during next 24 hours
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain may occur in parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand and South Bihar during the next 24 hours. There is also a possibility of lightning along with thunder and strong winds. Light to moderate rain along with snowfall may occur in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rain is expected in Northeast India, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Light rain is expected in parts of South-East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, East Vidarbha, Telangana and Karnataka.
