Weather Update: From Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand to the Northeast and Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka, rivers are in spate due to heavy rains and floods. Floods continue to wreak havoc in many states from UP, Gujarat to Bihar and Assam.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department on Monday warned of heavy rains in 19 states including UP for the next three days.

A red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Saurashtra and Kutch of Gujarat on Tuesday. There is an orange alert for heavy rains in Uttarakhand on 17-18, East Rajasthan on 18, Odisha on 19 and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 18-19 July.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Northeast and South states. Heavy rains occurred in many states in the last 24 hours. Water has entered several feet into houses in Valsad and Navsari of Gujarat. Schools and colleges remained closed on Monday due to heavy rains in seven districts of Kerala and Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka.

Cloudburst in Anantnag, house damaged

Cloudburst in Dooru area of ​​Anantnag district of South Kashmir late Sunday night caused flooding. Due to this a house was damaged. One cattle died in this incident. The administration is assessing the damage.

Shah spoke to CM Yogi, Himanta and Bhupendra Patel

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Gujarat on Monday and took stock of the situation arising out of floods and heavy rains. Sources said that in a phone conversation, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed Shah about the current situation in the state and the steps taken so far.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel apprised the Home Minister of the situation arising due to rain and floods in their states. Shah assured the three Chief Ministers of all possible help from the central government to deal with the situation.
