According to the Meteorological Department, the mercury has crossed 45 degrees Celsius in the state. The temperature of Taj city Agra was recorded at 46.9 degrees Celsius, which is the hottest. So in Jhansi the temperature was recorded at 45.6 degrees Celsius. Now the havoc of severe heat will be seen in the coming days.

The scorching heat is going to wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow Meteorological Department has issued orange alert of heat wave in many districts of the state from May 20 to May 22. During this period, heat wave was observed in Mathura, Aligarh, Agra, Etawah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Jaunpur, Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Jhansi in the state on 20, 21 and 22. Orange alert has been issued.

In the capital Lucknow, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.4 degrees Celsius on Friday with an increase of 2.2 degrees. While the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Hardoi was recorded at 43 and minimum 26.5 degrees Celsius. In Kanpur the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.6 and minimum 24 degrees Celsius, in Lakhimpur Khairi the maximum temperature was recorded at 40 and minimum 29 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Gorakhpur was recorded at 42.4 degrees Celsius, minimum at 26.2 degrees Celsius.
