Biporjoy cyclone: The weather is going to change rapidly in the next 24 hours. There are chances of getting relief in those areas too, where heatwave is going on these days.

Cyclonic storm Biporjoy is expected to intensify further in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. It will move rapidly towards the northeast. In a tweet, the IMD said, “The cyclonic storm BIPORGOY over east-central Arabian Sea will intensify into more severe at 2330 hrs of 9th June. It is very likely to move north-northeastwards and move further during next 24 hours.”

High waves have been observed at Tithal beach in Valsad on the Arabian Sea coast due to Biporjoy. As a precautionary measure, Tithal Beach has been closed for tourists till June 14. Valsad tehsildar TC Patel said, “We asked fishermen not to venture into the sea and they all have come back. People will be shifted to the seaside village if needed. Shelters have been made for them.” We have closed the beach for tourists till June 14.”

Yellow alert has been issued in several districts of Kerala on Friday. People in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Kozhikode and Kannur have been asked to be alert.

The Meteorological Department has said that due to the cyclone, very high waves may arise in the sea in the coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa by June 10. Let us tell you that this is the first cyclonic storm to hit the Arabian Sea this year, which has turned into a severe cyclonic storm.

Due to the cyclone, the sky may remain cloudy in Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh as well. At present, there is no forecast of rain in these areas. But, people can get relief from the scorching heat.
