IMD heavy rains alert! Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in 13 states for heavy rains

New Delhi. Monsoon is progressing rapidly in the country and has covered almost the entire country. On July 2, the monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab.

In this way, the monsoon has covered the entire country on July 2, 6 days before the normal date of covering the whole of India on July 8. The monsoon line is currently extending eastward to Manipur through Ferozepur, Rohtak, Hardoi, Ballia, Balurghat, Kailashahar. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation is formed over southeast Pakistan. Due to its effect, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely in northwest and central India during the next 5 days. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in 13 states for heavy rains.

UP-Bihar weather

According to IMD, heavy rains are likely in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh today. At the same time, a cyclonic circulation is formed over North Bangladesh and another is formed over Assam. Under their effect, widespread light to moderate rains with thunderstorms with heavy to very heavy rains are likely over Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 5 days. Very heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Bihar today.

Gujarat-Maharashtra weather

A cyclonic circulation persists over North Gujarat and adjoining areas. Under its influence, widespread light to moderate rains with thunderstorms and lightning are likely over Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat state. Fairly widespread light to moderate rains are likely over Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rains are likely at some places over Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Rayalaseema, Telangana during the next 5 days. Heavy rains may occur over Saurashtra and Kutch today.
