IMD Heat wave Update: Heat wave alert in THESE states after April 5, temperature will go above 40 degrees

Chandigarh: This summer season is going to witness record-breaking heat in Punjab and Haryana. After April 5, the southern region of Punjab including Haryana will witness the heat wave.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will increase further in the next two-three days and will go above 40.

Giving information, Surinder Pal said that at present the temperature in Punjab-Haryana including Chandigarh is 30 to 35 degrees but it will increase after 5th and 6th April, especially in Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and all the surrounding areas of Punjab, the wrath of heat wave will be seen. Along with this, if we talk about Haryana, then there will be a heat wave in the surrounding areas of Sirsa, Fatehabad, Mahindergarh.

Director Surinder Pal said that the main reason for the heatwave is that there is no possibility of rain and the entire environment is cloudless. There is no western disturbance here and neither has there been much rain in the last few days. He said that there is no possibility of rain in the coming days either. He said that last time too, there was a lot of heat in 2024. In such a situation, this year too the heat can break its record. It is worth mentioning that last year there was a record-breaking heat in Haryana and the mercury reached 48 degrees.

37 degrees mercury in Haryana

On Wednesday, the mercury was recorded around 35 degrees in many areas of Haryana. The highest temperature was recorded in Bhiwani at 37.2 degrees. Similarly, the maximum temperature in Chandigarh was 34.5, in Sirsa and Faridabad 36 degrees, in Gurugram 34.8, in Nornaul 36 and in Rohtak 37 degrees. Now AC, coolers and fans have started working across the state.
