The Meteorological Department estimates that it may rain in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh today. Along with this, a forecast of heavy snowfall has also been issued in the mountainous areas today. Western Disturbance is active over the Western Himalayas. Due to this, forecast of snowfall has been issued in Jammu Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad today.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert from today till March 6. Snowfall will also continue on the mountains. States like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar are witnessing an increase in temperature including summer. At the same time, there are slight changes in the weather due to rain.

Along with this, a thunderstorm warning has been issued in parts of Madhya Pradesh including Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal and Uttarakhand.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain and snow occurred over Western Himalayas. Light rain occurred at one or two places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim and East Assam.

The maximum temperature was 5 degrees or more above normal at many places in Punjab and Uttarakhand, at a few places in West Uttar Pradesh and at one or two places in Bihar.

Light to moderate rain and snow is possible over Western Himalayas during next 24 hours and will decrease thereafter. Light rain is possible over East Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Light rain and thundershowers may occur at one or two places in western and southern districts of Rajasthan. Scattered rain with light rain very likely over parts of Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, North Madhya Maharashtra and North Konkan & Goa during next 2 to 3 days.
