Rain Alert: The mood of the weather has changed in many states of the country. A new western disturbance is becoming active from today (8 April). Due to this, there is a possibility of rain especially in the north-eastern states.
Strong winds may also blow along with thunderstorms in many areas. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert. The IMD estimates that there is a possibility of rain in many states from Assam, Bihar to Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and north-eastern India in the next 48 hours.
A new western disturbance is entering the western Himalayan region today. According to the Meteorological Department, due to this powerful western disturbance, the weather will change in many states of the country. According to the IMD, its effect will be the highest in north-eastern India. Apart from this, the weather can also change in Bihar-Jharkhand due to its effect. The IMD estimates that on April 9 and 10, there is a possibility of strong winds along with thunderstorms, lightning and thunder in the north-eastern areas. The weather will also be harsh in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
How is the weather system right now?
According to a report by Skymet Weather, the cyclonic circulation which was earlier over Bihar is now active over the north-eastern parts of Jharkhand and its adjoining areas. At the same time, a trough line is extending from eastern Bihar to North Telangana. It is passing through the trough formed in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Cyclonic circulation has been formed up to a height of 5.8 km over the south-east Bay of Bengal. Due to its effect, a low pressure area is likely to form in the next 36 hours. There is a possibility of rain along with storm and lightning in eastern and north-eastern India till April 10.
Heat wave outbreak in many states
- The Meteorological Department has predicted that heat wave conditions may continue in many states in the coming three to four days. The Meteorological Department has predicted that severe heat wave will be seen in western Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch on 8 April. According to IMD, severe heat wave conditions may prevail in Gujarat, Haryana-Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, eastern Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in the next four days.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain may occur in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andaman-Nicobar Islands. There is a possibility of lightning and strong winds along with thunderstorms in many areas. According to a report by Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain is also expected in Northeast India. Heavy rain may occur in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Bihar on 9 April.
