The District Collector has issued an order declaring a holiday in the entire district on the occasion of Sheetla Ashtami. Under this, all government and private schools will remain closed. If any private school violates the order, action will be taken against the concerned administration.
On the occasion of Sheetla Ashtami, a local holiday has been declared on March 21. There will be a holiday in schools and government offices on this day. The Jaipur District Collector has issued orders under which all government and private schools as well as government offices in the district will remain closed. Due to this holiday, government employees will get three consecutive days off as March 21 is Sheetla Ashtami, March 22 is the fourth Saturday and March 23 is Sunday.
On the day of Sheetla Ashtami, Sheetla Mata, who is considered an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, is worshipped. In Jaipur, Sheetla Mata is considered a revered goddess and the festival is celebrated here with traditional rituals. On this day, women offer stale food prepared the day before to Sheetla Mata, in which all the family members participate. Following this tradition, a holiday is declared every year on Sheetla Ashtami using the collector power.
Action will be taken on opening of schools
The District Collector has declared a holiday in the entire Jaipur district on the occasion of Sheetla Ashtami. Under this order, all government and private schools will remain closed. If any private school opens on this day, action will be taken against the administration for violating the orders. Apart from this, there will be a holiday in all government departments in urban and rural areas of Jaipur. This decision has created a wave of joy among school children and government employees, as they will now be able to celebrate the festival of Basoda i.e. Sheetla Ashtami with their families.
