Important news has come out regarding the holidays in schools. School children have started enjoying themselves once again. Orders have been issued to keep all schools closed from 27th January i.e. today till 5th February 2025.
On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, lakhs of devotees are reaching Mahakumbh. The situation is such that there is not even room to set foot in the Kumbh. On Sunday, Mahakumbh set another record when 1.74 crore devotees took a dip in the Sangam in a single day. The number of devotees is increasing not only in Kumbh but also in Kashi. Seeing the huge crowd reaching Kashi, the District Magistrate has declared holidays in schools.

According to the orders issued regarding school closure, “As per the orders of the District Magistrate Varanasi, all schools (Classes 1 to 12) in Varanasi city will conduct online classes from January 27, 2025 to February 5, 2025. This order will be applicable to schools of government, private, UP Board, CBSE, ICSE and all other boards. During this period, students will have to study from their homes. However, practical exams for those subjects will be given in the school on pre-scheduled dates. More information in this regard will be available from the concerned department. This step has been taken to improve transportation and traffic in the city.

Due to the huge crowd coming to Varanasi for the Mahakumbh, it is taking hours to reach Gate number four from Godauliya Chowk. Considering this situation, the administration has decided that VIP, protocol and police vehicles will not ply between Godauliya and Madagin till the Mahakumbh. Only VIPs with Z-plus security will be allowed to travel in four-wheelers in this area. This step of the administration has been taken to control the crowd and traffic.

Due to Mahakumbh, the administration has made massive security arrangements to manage the huge crowd in Varanasi. Police Commissioner, 7 ADCPs and 10 ACPs along with 8 IPS officers are deployed on the roads. Around 500 personnel of Central Security Forces, PAC and Police are on shift-wise duty in the Kashi Vishwanath Dham complex.
