According to the AQI Index, the pollution in Delhi-NCR is in a state of ‘very bad’ to ‘severe’. In such a situation, it is becoming difficult for people to breathe. Along with this, many health related problems are occurring.
Amidst these circumstances, the government has tightened its grip on those who burn stubble. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has issued a notification regarding this. According to the notification, now a fine of up to Rs 30,000 has been imposed on those who burn stubble in Delhi-NCR.
Penalty will have to be paid for every incident of stubble burning
According to the notification, now a fine will have to be paid for every incident of stubble burning in Delhi-NCR. Some criteria have also been fixed for how much fine will be imposed on whom-
- If the land is less than 2 acres, a fine of 5 thousand rupees will have to be paid for every incident of stubble burning.
- If the land is more than 2 acres and less than 5 acres, the fine will be 10 thousand rupees.
- If the land is more than 5 acres, a fine of 30 thousand rupees will have to be paid.
Stubble is one of the major causes of pollution
Let us tell you that stubble is the main reason for the increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR every year. These days, paddy harvesting is almost over in Haryana, Punjab and entire North India. In such a situation, incidents of stubble burning are also at their peak. Delhi has turned into a gas chamber due to this smoke of stubble. The level of pollution in Delhi’s air has reached a very dangerous level. There is a blanket of smog in the sky. In such a situation, the Delhi government has now increased the strictness on those who burn stubble so that these incidents can be controlled.
