The Rajasthan government has decided to extend the term of its ambitious Indira Gandhi Urban Credit Card scheme till the end of this financial year. Along with this, the age limit for applying in the scheme has also been increased to 60 years.
Deadline extended till 31 March 2024
According to an official statement, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched the scheme with the aim of connecting urban street vendors and service sector youth and unemployed with self-employment and providing interest-free loans for their daily needs. It has been decided to extend the period of Indira Gandhi Urban Credit Card Scheme till March 31, 2024.
Extended age limit for application
According to the government order, the period of Indira Gandhi Urban Credit Card Scheme has been extended till March 31, 2024. Earlier, the duration of this scheme was till 31 March 2023. Along with this, the age limit for applying in the scheme has been increased from 40 years to 60 years, so that needy people above 40 years of age in urban areas will also be able to get the benefit of this scheme.
Get interest free loan up to Rs 50,000
It is noteworthy that Indira Gandhi Urban Credit Card Scheme was launched in the year 2021. Under this scheme, interest free loan up to Rs.50 thousand is made available. The aim of the scheme is to provide economic support to unemployed youths and unemployed youths who earn their livelihood by working as street vendors, rickshaw pullers, potters, tailors, washermen, mechanics, painters etc. without any guarantee for livelihood and self-employment.
