Even then, if a medical store owner is seen selling medicines without a prescription, then he will not be well. Actually, the Delhi government has taken this decision due to the increasing number of vector prone diseases. The government ordered medical stores that medical stores cannot sell medicines like aspirin and ibuprofen without a doctor’s prescription.

The Department of Drug Control has also advised chemists to keep records of painkillers. Recently, keeping in mind the increasing cases of dengue, the Department of Drug Control had said that the incidence of vector-borne diseases like dengue and chikungunya increases during the rainy season. Such diseases should be monitored very strictly.

Therefore decided

Actually, people usually take medicines like Ibuprofen and Diclofenac for the treatment of dengue. Due to which people start facing many problems later. Therefore, retail drug dealers are advised not to include medicines like Aspirin, Ibuprofen and Diclofenac in over-the-counter sale with immediate effect till further instructions. Along with this, it is also advised to keep a track of these medicines.

Action will be taken on breaking the rules

The Department of Drug Control said that strict action will be taken against the rule breakers who do not follow this order. Doctors have warned that uncontrolled use of such drugs can prove fatal for patients of vector-borne diseases. Due to the use of these medicines, there is a deficiency of platelets in the human blood.
