Make UPI payment without internet
In today’s youth, the trend of UPI based payment service like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm has increased a lot. People have started keeping UPI instead of wallet. However, it is very important to have internet to use these UPI best software. Sometimes there is no internet in many places, or the signal is weak. In such a situation, making online payment becomes difficult. But through a trick, you can make UPI payments through many platforms on smartphones without internet.
Make offline payment by dialing this number
First, you need to dial *99#, also known as USSD service. The USSD service is a service originally launched in India by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in November 2021 for all mobile users including non-smartphone users, before the launch of the UPI network in the country.
How to make payment by dialing *99# on your mobile
- Register yourself on BHIM app to create UPI account and complete one time registration.
- Enter your correct phone number linked to the bank account.
- Open the dial pad on your mobile phone and type ‘*99#’. It will redirect you to a new menu which has seven options like ‘My Profile’, ‘Send Money’, ‘Receive Money’, ‘Pending Request’, ‘Check Balance’, ‘UPI PIN’ and ‘Transaction’.
- Select the ‘Send Money’ option by pressing the number 1 in the text field on your dial pad. You can then send money using your bank account number, UPI ID and IFSC code or phone number.
- If you opt for UPI, you will have to enter the UPI ID of the beneficiary.
- If you select the phone number option, you will need to enter the mobile number of the person to whom you are sending money.
- If you select the Bank Account option, you will have to enter the 11 digit IFSC code and the recipient’s bank account number.
- Next, you need to enter the amount you want to transfer to the other person, similar to any other digital transaction platform like Google Pay or Paytm.
- Enter your UPI PIN number and hit the ‘Submit’ button to complete the transaction.
- You will be charged Rs 0.50 for such payment.
