The year 2024 will also take away the jobs of some employees. Difficult times are coming for 10 percent of the employees working in Google. Because the company’s CEO Sundar Pichai has announced to lay off 10 percent of the employees in the company.

Along with making this announcement, Pichai also explained why the company is laying off 10 percent of the employees. He said that this decision is part of the organizational restructuring aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

Let us tell you that this time the company is making these layoffs from management roles. Sundar Pichai gave information about this during the company’s meeting held on Wednesday and said that such a step has been taken to increase productivity.

Earlier, Google had laid off 6 percent, i.e. 12,000 employees, in January 2023. This time, the company is laying off 10 percent.

This is not the first time Google has resorted to layoffs in recent months. Google has been focusing on improving efficiency for the past two years. In September 2022, Pichai set a goal for the company to become 20 percent more efficient. The following January, this initiative led to a historic round of layoffs, resulting in the loss of 12,000 jobs. As Google implements these changes, the tech giant is exploring ways to further optimize its operations, including investing in automation and artificial intelligence to improve productivity.

Google’s restructuring is also inspiring other tech giants. As Amazon has focused on reducing middle management layers, the emphasis has been on empowering individual contributors and speeding up decision-making. Widely adopted in the tech sector, these methods aim to foster innovation and enable companies to adapt more quickly to technological advances.
