GOOD NEWS: India’s 1st Vande Bharat Sleeper train reaches Chennai, may run fast soon

Indian Railways is going to give another big gift to its passengers soon. Preparations are going on in full swing to start the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. The national transporter has already completed the trial run of this semi-high-speed train.

It is being told that passengers will get a new experience in terms of comfort and convenience in the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. In such a situation, people are also eagerly waiting for its launch. The trial and test run was done by the Lucknow-based Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO). Now this Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has reached Chennai and is handed over to the Integral Coach Factory (ICF).

A senior railway official has confirmed this. Talking to ET Now, the officer said, ‘The first rake of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has reached ICF Chennai. Here it is being given the final touches.’ It is known that the trial run of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train was done in January. The first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train set with 16 coaches is now awaiting approval from Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) to be filled. Along with this, it also has to get approval related to railway safety. The train successfully completed the long distance trial on January 15.

Successful trial up to a distance of 540 km

The board said in its statement, ‘RDSO will issue the final certificate after analyzing the test before the operation of India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train. The Railway Safety Commissioner will evaluate the train at its maximum speed.’ According to the board, the dream of a world-class high-speed sleeper train has now become a reality, as the first 16-coach Vande Bharat sleeper train set successfully trialed a distance of 540 km in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad section. Chennai-based ICF completed the manufacture of India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train set on 17 December 2024.
