Jaipur: The Bhajanlal government of Rajasthan presented its second full budget today, in which priority has been given to environmental protection. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari termed it a “green theme budget” during the budget speech.
The government will implement new schemes to promote green buildings, solar energy, electric vehicles and pollution control. There is good news for pensioners in this budget. Finance Minister Diya Kumari announced an increase in the pension amount, which will directly benefit the elderly, disabled, widows and farmers.
Hike in pension amount
It was announced in the budget that the elderly, single women, widows and small and marginal farmers of the low income group will now receive a pension of Rs 1250 per month. This increase will benefit lakhs of beneficiaries under the Social Security Pension Scheme.
Special schemes for children:
The budget has announced setting up of Child Care Institutes in 10 districts, which will provide better care and protection to needy children.
Increase in Housing Schemes:
Under the housing schemes run for deprived women and disabled persons, the assistance amount per beneficiary has been increased to Rs. 3250.
Continuous improvement in social security
At the beginning of the Social Security Pension Scheme in Rajasthan, the pension amount was Rs 500 per month. In 2019, it was increased to Rs 750, and in 2023 it increased to Rs 1000. Now the Bhajanlal government has decided to make it Rs 1250, which will directly benefit about 90 lakh beneficiaries of the state.
This budget not only focuses on environmental protection but also gives priority to the welfare of the weaker sections of the society.
